W. H. Greene & Associates is proud to be partnered with carriers who are willing to consider everything from the ridiculous to the sublime. Some of these markets have given us binding authority agreements which allow us to underwrite, rate and issue policies “in-house”. These tend to be smaller risks, either monoline CGL or packages with low property limits.
General Liability
Typical risks are casualty-driven, and include amusement centers, antique stores, bars, taverns, day care centers and martial arts studios. We can also consider special or short-term events, such as parades, and ticket agents. One of our brokers took a considerable ribbing when we found out he’d underwritten a pretty sizable number of adult bookstores. Other, more family-friendly risks considered are petting zoos, dog walkers and video arcades.
Professional Liability
Some of our CGL risks – for example, exercise or health studios and beauty parlors – need professional liability coverage included in their CGL policy. We are able to do this quite easily. We also have underwriting authority for home health care aides, family counselors, pastoral counselors and student interns.
Property Insurance
To better accommodate the liability risks described above, we also have a the ability to complete the insured’s program by adding contents coverage or inland marine insurance. We can even include building coverage, subject to limits of $300,000 per building and $1,000,000 per location. Not only does it allow us to offer a well-rounded program to our producers on less typical accounts, but it also allows us to consider package business on other main street businesses, such as delis, small apartment buildings and rooming houses, where the standard market has little interest.

They can’t offer professional liability?
They’ve never even heard of that class of risk?
They laughed when you told them what the account was?
